Haylie Griffiths Counselling provides professional individual counselling including LGBT counselling, autism and ADHD counselling, and ethically non-monogamous / open relationship counselling. Our approach integrates a diverse range of evidence-based counselling techniques, including Somatic Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). This use of integrated techniques ensures tailored and effective interventions, catering to the unique needs of each client.
During your initial session at Haylie Griffiths Counselling, you can expect a confidential and welcoming space. Haylie will work collaboratively with you to gain a thorough understanding of your background, concerns, and goals. This information guides the creation of a personalized treatment plan. We'll also cover the counselling process, confidentiality, and address any questions you may have. This session establishes the foundation for a trusting therapeutic relationship and sets the stage for your journey towards personal growth and well-being.
Counselling provided by a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) may be eligible for coverage under certain extended health care plans. To determine if you qualify for this coverage, we recommend checking with your benefit provider directly. They can provide specific information regarding the extent of coverage for counselilng services delivered by a CCC and guide you through the necessary steps to access any available benefits.
Yes! Eligible clients can receive funding for services through the following avenues:
ICBC: Claimants are pre-approved for 12 sessions** with an RCC or CCC.
**Within 12 weeks of the date of the accident causing the injury.
WorkBC: Haylie Griffiths Counselling is an approved provider for WorkBC's Personal Counselling for Employment Readiness Program. Eligible WorkBc clients are pre-approved for 10 sessions.
Self-Design Learning Foundation: Haylie Griffiths Counselling is approved to provide counselling support to learners who are enrolled in the Self-Design Learning program.
CVAP: Haylie Griffiths Counselling is an approved service provider by the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP). Victims of a violent crime are eligible for 48 hours of counselling, family members of victims are eligible for 36 hours of counselling, and witnesses are eligible for 12 hours.
Metis Nation: Haylie Griffiths Counselling is an approved provider for the Metis Counselling Connections program. Eligible Metis Citizens can receive funding for 10 individual counselling sessions.
Clients are required to provide 24 hours’ notice of cancellation via e-mail, text, or phone. Clients who cancel within 24 hours will be billed half the hourly rate; clients who miss scheduled appointments will be billed the full hourly rate. If you cancel or miss more than 3 consecutive appointments or fail to respond to attempts at contacting you, the therapist reserves the right to discontinue your treatment and you will be provided with information about other services that might be of assistance if this is of interest to you.
Haylie Griffiths Counselling is not qualified to provide diagnoses for ADHD. However we can guide you through screening tools and support you to connect with professionals who are able to provide more definitive answers to your questions. At Haylie Griffiths Counselling, we believe your experiences are real and valid and strive to support clients with their identified areas of concern, whether or not they have received formal a diagnosis.
